Dental Implants
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root which is placed in the jaw and is used to hold a crown, bridge or denture in place. The implant is made of titanium, titanium alloy or ceramics – materials which are generally well-tolerated by the human body. The dental implant is surgically inserted under local anesthetic.
Dental implants are considered the ‘gold standard’ treatment for replacing missing teeth as they do not require the preparation of any natural teeth. They are also considered the most reliable method of replacing teeth.

At Blairgowrie Dental Care we work closely with Blackhills Specialist Dental Clinic. The GDC registered, specialist, oral surgeons at Blackhills Clinic place our dental implants and we then make the crown, bridge or denture as appropriate.
